Over 20 years of Exploring...

Namesti fellow intrepid travellers! I am Nitin Dhami and I have been exploring this beautiful world of ours since I was 15 years of age. I started as a porter for my parents trekking company in the Western Himalayas of India. I carried bags for the international trekkers that came to India wanting to trek some of the most beautiful treks in the world. I love the mountains and fell in love being a shepherd of the trekkers. As more and more travellers came to our home stay, I started to develop my skill of the English language, which was taught to me in my early years of school.

I have since then found a passion for exploring not only my own country but also this wonderful world of ours. I have journeyed to some wonderful places with many like-minded travellers and meet some beautiful people from the islands of Papua New Guinea to the deserts of India. I love helping travellers plan their journey and make their dreams come to reality. I have a wide reach of connections in India, Sub Continent and to other parts of the world.

My biggest achievement happened in 2019! Wanderlust Magazine awarded me with the Silver World Guide Award. I turned my passion into a profession and I am proud and thankful for all the amazing travellers that I guided, through out my career, to help me get this prestiges award. In 1998 & 2000 I took part in a Basic and Advance Mountaineering Courses in India. 2003 was my first international journey to Nepal leading a group of travellers through out this country. 2005 I was asked to lead multiple Intrepid Charity Challenges on bicycle through out Laos and Sri Lanka. 2007 I had the opportunity to become a Wilderness Leader at Camp Tawonga in San Francisco, which was my first trip to North America. 2008 I was offered to lead my first trip to Papua New Guinea with Eldertreks, which I have been returning to this wonderful country over the past 11 years. I am a free lance leader that still take travellers to exotic destinations like China, Japan, Iran, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and to many more. My passion is the world and better yet experiencing it with others.

Since 2000, Maureen Atkinson/Dhami has created and arranged group tours for companies like G Adventures and Eldertreks along with managed the tailor made Asia product for Goway Canada. Not to mention travelled the world extensively, including Antarctica twice!
